Website Development

With its unprecedented capabilities for rich, interactive communications, automation and information gathering, and delivery, the Web will likely have a key role to play in your operations. Marketing communications, customer relationship management, order processing and execution, supply chain management--your website can help you fulfill many core functions.

Whether you opt for a simple Web presence that effectively introduces your company to its market, or for a large and dynamic e-commerce site, MHT Corporation can help you.

We are able to bring together Web designers, programmers, and content creators to provide you with a one-stop, cost-effective solution. And naturally, we can build your site in any language.

Define

The most important phase of any project--big or small. This is where you, the client, describe exactly what you're after in your website.

We'll discuss business requirements, branding, user groups, technology, languages and much more.

For smaller projects, we'll produce a short scope document and quotation for you to review. Larger projects (including ecommerce or membership driven websites) require us to spend a bit more time clarifying our understanding in a Requirements document for you to approve.

We also discuss your content requirements: where it is coming from, how it should be presented on the Web, and what other languages you wish to support!

Design

There are a number of different elements in the design phase:

For smaller projects, we'll produce a short scope document and quotation for you to review. Larger projects (including ecommerce or membership driven websites) require us to spend a bit more time clarifying our understanding in a Requirements document for you to approve.

We also discuss your content requirements: where it is coming from, how it should be presented on the Web, and what other languages you wish to support!

  • Graphic Design
The "look and feel" of the website, including the colors, logos, fonts, etc. You will work closely with our graphic designers to achieve an attractive, useable layout.
  • Information Architecture
The "structure" of your site, meaning how the content is categorized and labeled, deciding on the terminology to be used and reviewing how the final structure will work in the target languages.
  • Functional Specification
A document that describes each page on the website and how it works. Not usually necessary for static, HTML-only websites; but if we're building any dynamic, database-driven functionality then we always write it down for you to review and sign-off. We will build the website to match this document, so there won't be any "unexpected surprises" when the work is finished.
  • Technical Specification
The most important document for large, complex websites, since it describes how we'll build the site. Most clients don't need to be involved in the Technical Specification, but if you have internal technical staff they have the opportunity to review and discuss our approach before we start development. During the design phase we also expect you will be gathering the final content and providing it to us for translation. That can happen in parallel with the design and development phases, although the content delivery and translation reviews are important milestones in the project, as both the content and the translations must be "approved" at certain points in the development phase before it can be completed.

Develop

Once you are happy with the documentation we have produced to describe how your website will look and work, we can start building it! It's easy to feel out of touch with the development process because we often can't show you progress until we're finished, which is why provide regular status updates. You'll always know how we're tracking to plan, and when milestones are approaching and are met.

Our internal testing will take place during development, to ensure that by the time you see the website it is working as expected. We'll ask you to do your own testing before signing off on the project, so that you can be sure what we've delivered is what you asked for.

Deploy

We can provide you with the final website for deployment to your servers, or assist you in setting up the website on a server. We can also help with domain name purchases, SSL security certificates and other hosting-related issues that are essential to getting the website up and running.

If required, we can also provide ongoing services such as usage reporting and site maintenance and upgrades.
